Application of UF Ultrafiltration Membrane
Drinking water is a common concern for people and is related to the interests of everyone. With the increasing pollution of the water environment, problems with water sources and water quality are frequent. Issues such as algal toxins and Cryptosporidium pose a significant threat to people’s drinking water.
The use of UF ultrafiltration membrane technology in drinking water purification can effectively filter out harmful substances such as microorganisms and protozoa in water, and eliminate some pathogenic microorganisms, achieving satisfactory results. In the actual application of this technology, pre-treatment of drinking water with coagulation and sedimentation methods is necessary. Then, the immersion ultrafiltration membrane technology is used to treat substances such as turbidity, pollutants, microorganisms, etc in the water to reduce the amount of impurities and achieve the goal of purifying drinking water. Through layer-by-layer filtration, harmful pollutants in drinking water can be reduced, ensuring the utilization efficiency and cleanliness of water sources. In addition, the use of this technology for drinking water filtration can also effectively isolate wastewater pollution sources from drinking water.
UF ultrafiltration membrane technology is a separation technology that uses a membrane to achieve ultrafiltration and interception. It can make the liquid flow through the membrane under pressure, and some low molecular weight solvents or solutes in the liquid will pass through the micropores on the membrane and reach the inside of the membrane, while high molecular weight solutes and emulsion micelles are intercepted outside the membrane, promoting the separation of the solution. Therefore, screening is the main mechanism of this technology, and the membrane can adsorb high molecular weight and colloid substances. Under the screening and interception effects, substances can be separated. In addition, the surface of the membrane can also play a certain chemical role in the separation process. In water solutions, when the number of water molecules exceeds 500, ultrafiltration membrane technology can mainly intercept large molecules and colloids with a diameter of 0.005-10 μm.
